Good travelodge. Clean and tidy, staff friendly and helpful. An older travelodge as they still have a proper key and a bath tub. Free carpark. Only downside is you can hear the slight rumble of the A12. Easy to find south bound,stay on A12 and turn off at service station (Starbucks). North bound , turn off just past the petrol stations that are opposite each other. Then go under A12 then on to A12 south bound. Good place for overnight stay. Would use again.
Good basic overnight stay. Clean rooms and bedlinen, comfy beds and friendly staff. Good sized bathroom and large towels all very clean. Shower got good pressure. We had breakfast in the Starbucks next door but the breakfast box is available. I would come again.
UPDATE: Soap dispenser empty, shower dispenser broken and not dispensing. Stains on mattress. Not great. Clean warm room, friendly receptionist, plenty of parking for a large panel van. Greta value for money. Only downside there is no restaurant close.
We stayed here as a good location to get into Colchester and a lot cheaper than surrounding budget hotels (under £30 for the night booked a fortnight in advance). It’s certainly budget, was a hot night with just a fan, but perfectly fine for a night. Restaurant under the underpass (Cappadocia) was superb.
Lovely quiet place. Nice and clean comfy cosy bed and room. The only thing I was a bit disappointed with was no breakfast but that was my fault for not looking properly. But overall a lovely relaxing stay! Also the staff were lovely and friendly
Stayed for several nights. Comfortable. Had our dog so happy to have somewhere to stay. Could certainly use an update, certain parts very worn/tired. Only complaint was that for four nights as a couple we found 1 hand towel and 1 bath towel. But cheap and cheerful happily stay there again.
The Travelodge in Capel St. Mary is basic, but clean. It is a peaceful location despite being next to the A12. We were on the ground floor in room 11 on the North East facing side of the building. There is a lot of space in the room so a luggage rack or additional chair to put a bag on would be nicer than grovelling on the floor to get at your suitcase. The garden centre 3 minutes drive away is a lovely place to get breakfast.
Me and my daughter stayed here the night before seeing friends in Brantham the next day. It was very welcoming and a quick check in, which was great as we had a long drive down. The room was cosy and had a little TV, which we used. Quiet considering the location being on top of the A12. We had a good sleep but it was a bit warm. Good place to stay.
